As the name implies at Hometown Health, the health of our patients, employees and community is of the utmost importance.  We plan on being open throughout this pandemic to provide help to our patients and to help alleviate some of the pressure on our medical system by caring for any musculoskeletal conditions that arise.  With that said, we would like to pass on some general recommendations from the CDC which we will plan on following at the office to slow the spread of this disease.

  • Practice good hygiene – wash hands regularly and cough or sneeze into your elbow
  • Stop handshaking – use other noncontact methods of greeting
  • Avoid touching your face, mouth and eyes
  • Regularly disinfect surfaces that are often touched
  • Increase ventilation by opening windows or adjusting air conditioning
  • Kindly stay home and reschedule your appointment if you or someone in your household is feeling sick

We also have a few notes from our doctors on how to maintain your health:

  • Get plenty of rest
  • Avoid eating sugary foods as sugar can significantly decrease your immune system
  • Consider supplementing vitamins D and C (sunlight and oranges are great, natural ways to do this, but you can also utilize OTC supplements from any drug store)
  • If you currently exercise, continue to do so!  If you do not currently exercise, consider implementing a MILD exercise program (walking is a great start!) but do not overdo it
  • Drink plenty of water
  • If you feel you are showing signs or symptoms of the Coronavirus, call your primary care physician to discuss your best options
